Shahida Imani was appointed as CEO of Chromacity in August 2018. A Chartered Management Accountant, Shahida has worked for number of high tech companies such as Optos, Voxar and Odos Imaging bringing expertise in scale up and international expansion.
Dr. Christopher Leburn leads the commercial growth of Chromacity. The former Royal Society of Edinburgh Enterprise Fellow holds a Ph.D. from the University of St Andrews in ultrafast solid-state lasers and co-founded Chromacity in 2013.
Dr Carl Farrell manages the design and development of Chromacity’s product portfolio. The Technical Director and Co-Founder holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southampton in optical fibre lasers.
Melissa Crahan was appointed as the Finance & Office Manager in July 2019 and brings over 10 years’ experience in finance, HR and operations management.
Bill Handyside joined Chromacity in June 2019 as the Head of Manufacturing. Bill brings over 10 years’ experience from the laser industry and holds an MSc in Photonics and Optoelectronic Devices from the University of St Andrews.
Michael Dalgleish was appointed as Marketing & Communications Manager in September 2019 and offers over 15 years’ experience within biotechnology, IT and the energy sector.

What you can expect
The purpose of the role is the management, coordination and execution of marketing activities for the business with demonstrable experience in the areas below, supported by evidence:
Desirable Criteria
Candidates must have previous business development experience at a senior level with a track record of closing high value strategic business opportunities, ideally within a tech company setting and an understanding to complex technical sales process.
Must have a good understanding of developing and raising awareness of market profile, develop new customer relationships and ability to research and develop business opportunities in new markets as well as confidently being able to produce reports on effectiveness of sales and business development activity.
Must be a confident leader, with effective project management qualities. A good understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements would be desirable.
You will have strong communication and organisation skills as well as be competent and confident with IT and Microsoft Office.
